RECIPE | BEEF AU JUS SANDWICH

It's Rochesterfest week! We're taking a page from the Rochesterfest cookbook and delicious roast beef from Vreeman Farms to create this dish. The ingredients are super simple, all you need is a little time, love and GOOD BEEF.

Get rolls from Omar's bakery to wow your family and guests this summer at any party! Our favorite is Cheddar Jalapeno, but you can mix and match! Add a side of pickles from the market too.

Beef au Jus Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 1-3 lbs beef roast, trim fat (Vreeman's beef is lean, you most likely won't have to trim anything!)

  • 1 package dry onion soup mix

  • 1 can mushroom soup

  • 3 soup cans water

  • 1 large onion, chopped

  • 1/8 tsp garlic salt

  • 1/8 tsp pepper

Place roast in roasting pan. Mix all ingredients and pour over roast. Bake in slow over at 300 degrees for approximately 3-4 hours, until the meat falls apart. When Done, remove roast from pan and shred with a dinner fork. Put shredded meat back in the pan with juices and blend. Serve on a party bun or Kaiser roll.

RECIPE NOTE: We bought a 3lb pack of tip roast, used 2 lb to make this sandwich, and 1 lb to make SCALLION BEEF STIR-FRY! Making the most out of this beautiful cut.
