FARMERS MARKET VOTES TO RELOCATE TO GRAHAM PARK FOR 2020 SEASON

Updated: Feb 14, 2020

We are excited to announce that the vendor membership of Rochester Farmers Markets voted on Tuesday, February 4, to pursue a proposal by Olmsted County to relocate the summer Saturday farmers market to Graham Park (known to many as the Olmsted County fairgrounds) effective May 2, 2020!

“Graham Park has given us a great offer for a long-term solution for the farmers market,” said Paul Schmidt, chair of the Location Committee, the group who has been exploring opportunities for a permanent home for Rochester Farmers Markets. “This move meets our objectives of offering a year-round, consistent place for locals and visitors to find high quality farm products.”

The vendor membership of the Rochester Farmers Market Association voted Tuesday, February 4, to move the summer Saturday market to Graham Park (Olmsted County fairgrounds) in 2020

The proposed site is adjacent to the current winter and Wednesday markets (pictured below) and offers many benefits to customers such as improved accessibility, simpler and safer parking, and a view of the iconic Ear of Corn water tower!

In the coming weeks, Rochester Farmers Markets leadership will meet with Olmsted County leadership and other major stakeholders to explore a path forward for this move. We expect to open for the summer market season at 7:30 AM on Saturday, May 2, 2020.

We will have indoor farmers markets at Graham Park Building 35 (Industrial Hall) from 9:00 to 12:00 on the following dates. We hope to see you there to chat about this exciting news!

Saturdays: February 8 and 22, March 7 and 21, April 4 and 18

35 Fairgrounds Ave SE, Rochester, MN 55904

The annual vendor membership meeting, held this year at the Industrial Hall at Graham Park, brings together growers from across southeastern Minnesota to vote on how Rochester Farmers Markets are organized and operated.
